This piece is a tribute to the great man who was as large as this land. I asked for his help as I painted the house he built for his parents. I completed most of this en plein air, painting under the shade of a pirul tree with my favorite ranch dog. As I painted, the tree sang in the breeze punctuated by calls from the horses.
