“Everything new tumbles out of you without effort. Chartreuse sunshine nectars out, full moon’s peppermint, silver on the white rainbow of night. Life is your only handmaiden; and we your pale children have not only grassed and leaved, but in spite of our dormant selves have budded and flowered again. You have no real name, so we have named you Spring. You have no real reasons, so we call you renewal. You’re careless and overabundant, so we frame you in time and necessity. Nothing blooms in you that will not bloom again. Even when the Sun blackens in death, you will find somewhere else to emerge. You may be the only immortality we encounter because you always return; and we always return to you. I’ll miss you every day of my life; but I will return……”
