To Roam Once More

This is a studio painting of a buffalo in oil on linen. My inspiration came from a trip to Yellowstone Natl Park , where I was able to view and gather reference of actual wild buffalo herds. It inspired me to see them up so close. The bison, for me, symbolize a longing for the freedoms they once enjoyed roaming over the western American Landscape and that we too one day may be longing for freedoms we have enjoyed in the past.
