Plumbush Creek

"Plumbush Creek" is an oil plein air study that was completed while vacationing in Plum Island, MA. The marsh, named after the wild beach plum shrubs that grow there, surrounds the bridge that leads to this barrier island I call home. The marsh symbolizes an exhale, disconnecting from the external world and reconnecting with the natural world. On this particular day, I arrived at the marsh at sunset and found it challenging to capture the fluidity of the sky as the light changed rapidly. But the challenge made the process and the product that much more worth while.
