I was painting near Baxter Park in Maine. This was largely painted plein air except for some work on the water after the light had changed a great deal. The painting is of Katahdin, the end of the Appalachian Trail. Painting such an iconic mountain means one is almost painting a portrait, not much invention or fudging allowed.
