Pacifica California, Vista Point

The Grace McCarthy Vista Point overlooks the beautiful town of Pacifica, California. I parked at the turnout and sketched the view and took photo references. Back in my studio, I recomposed the scene, creating an opening through Monterey pines revealing the town below. This piece is mixed media; drawing, gouache, scanned and adjusted with digital filters, printed and re-painted. I hoped to give the effect of a vintage print using modern techniques. This artwork was chosen to be used for a postcard to advertise the various beautiful locations around Pacifica.
