A New Day was created mostly on the beach, at Anastasia State Park in St. Augustine - then completed in studio. The subject was just starting a new phase of her life after coming out of a difficult time, and commissioned this portrait as part of her determination to move forward. After hours of posing for the last session in the dunes, we both jumped in the ocean for a swim to celebrate. It is painted in oil on a 24x36 canvas.
