SPLIT ROCK

Oil on canvas panel. SPLIT ROCK, sacred to the Yurok Tribe in Humboldt County. This was painted on one of those rare spring days where the fog receded and the light got better as the day went on. I tried to quit a number of times but continued to “see more” as the sun got higher in the sky. The wind never came up which is unusual on the California north coast.
